A Treehouse For All, Concept Planning

Soon to be built in the children's area of Roger Williams Park, Providence, the Treehouse for All will provide treetop access to people across age and ability.

Multi Design For People, in collaboration with Rhode Island School of Design students and Forever Young Treehouses, worked with the Roger Williams Park Zoo to plan and develop a treehouse for visitors across age, ability, and culture. The treehouse is a holistic collection of natural landscapes, connecting pathways, wayfinding systems, interpretive programming and furniture systems that accommodate the intergenerational range of zoo visitors.

Our team's work to define the project's vision and preliminary design helped Roger Williams Park Zoo secure funding to build the treehouse from CVS Caremark All Kid's Can.

A Treehouse for All is included in the Roger Williams Park Zoo Master Improvement Plan; scheduled for completion in 2011.
